Biography

Stephen Holland is a Professor in the Department of Economics in the Bryan School of Business and Economics at the University of North Carolina Greensboro and is a Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research.  He worked at the Federal Trade Commission and the University of California Energy Institute before returning to academia for his current position at UNCG.  Stephen’s research has included work on carbon policies for transportation, the market design of cap and trade programs, the RECLAIM emissions trading program in southern California; California’s Low Carbon Fuel Standard (LCFS); the EPA’s Clean Power Plan addressing GHG emissions from power plants; and real-time pricing of electricity.  His current research interests include the environmental benefits and distributional effects of electric vehicles.
