Dan Short is the Fuels Technology Advisor for Marathon Petroleum Company (the 3rd largest refining company in the United States). He received his Ph.D. in Chemical and Environmental Engineering at the University of California Riverside. At UCR, he worked primarily on vehicle emissions testing of current and emerging fuels and vehicle technologies. His current job duties at MPC include advising the company on new fuel technologies and staying abreast with future fuel/engine technology trends. Dan currently serves as the Coordination Research Council (CRC) emissions committee co-chair, the CRC life cycle analysis panel chair, and the API life cycle analysis group chair.
